Purchasing Add-ons

Add-ons extend Benecaster with additional features like the Migration Wizard and Email Editor. An add-on is bought on a licence and covers every show on it. Browse available add-ons at benecaster.com/add-ons/.

What You Need Before Purchasing

  • An active Benecaster plan (Launch, Starter, Growth, Pro, or Multi-Show)
  • A card on your account, or one entered at checkout

You do not need your site connected in order to buy an add-on, and there is nothing to copy out of your WordPress admin first. Connecting the site is what makes the add-on arrive — see Connect Your Site.

Purchasing an Add-on

You can buy an add-on at signup, or at any time afterwards from your account.

From your account (after signup)

  1. Sign in and go to your account
  2. Open Your add-ons
  3. Choose the add-on you want
  4. Confirm

There is no show to choose. The add-on applies to the licence.

You are charged straight away, either way — but the amount differs. If this is your first
add-on, you pay the full annual price today. If you already have one, the new add-on joins your existing add-on subscription and you pay only the rest of the current period for it today, to the card on your account. It then renews with your other add-ons at the full price.

Your renewal date does not move. All the add-ons on your licence share one renewal date, which is
why a later add-on costs a part-period amount now and its full price from the next renewal on. If you buy an add-on in March and see the full price charged in July, nothing has gone wrong — that is the shared renewal date arriving.

The add-on is active immediately in every case.

At signup

Add-ons are part of the checkout form. Under Add-ons (optional) you tick the ones you want, and they are charged with your first plan payment. Anything your plan already includes is shown as included and cannot be ticked.

Your add-on entitlement is provisioned within a few minutes of purchase. The next time your site checks in with Benecaster (usually within 24 hours), it will receive the updated add-on list and activate the new features automatically.

To activate immediately: In your WordPress admin, go to Benecaster → Settings and click
Check License. This triggers an immediate sync.

Which Account an Add-on Belongs To

An add-on belongs to the licence you bought it on, not to a particular show. It works on whatever shows are registered to that licence at the time — so as your shows change, the add-on follows the licence rather than being pinned to one podcast.

If you close a show and start another on the same licence, the new show carries the add-on. There
is nothing to reassign and nothing to buy again. On a single-show plan that means the add-on moves with you from one podcast to the next; on Multi-Show it covers the shows on that licence, up to the three the plan allows.

Add-ons cannot be moved between licences. If you hold more than one Benecaster account, or you
have separate licences for separate podcasts, an add-on bought on one does not work on the other — including when the licences belong to the same person. This is the one part that is not flexible, and it applies in both directions.

The case worth knowing about: if you move a show onto a different licence — say a podcast moves from your Growth account onto its own Launch account — any add-on you bought on the old licence stays there. The show is now registered elsewhere, so the add-on no longer applies to it. If that show needs the add-on on its new licence, it is a new purchase.

If an add-on ends up on the wrong licence because of a mistake at checkout, contact us. We will
correct it. That is a correction to a purchase that went astray, not a transfer, and it is not a route to moving an add-on later by asking.

How a Show Becomes Attached to a Licence

Real but uncommon: most people have one licence and one show, and never need this. It matters when you have more than one of either.

Connecting the site is the only thing that attaches a show to a licence. When you connect from
Benecaster → Settings, your site is linked to the Benecaster account you sign in with during that
step, and the show is registered against that account’s licence. There is no separate assignment screen, and nothing you enter at checkout affects it.

So the licence a show ends up on is decided by the account you connected it with. Sign in with the
wrong account at that moment and the show attaches to the wrong licence — and an add-on bought on the other one will not reach it.

If you hold more than one licence, connect each site while signed in to the account holding the
licence it should use, and buy that site’s add-ons on that same licence. To check where a site landed, sign in to your account: when you hold more than one plan, a switcher at the top lets you move between them, and each one lists its own Connected shows.

To move a show to a different licence, disconnect the site in Benecaster → Settings and
connect it again with the other account. The show’s own content is untouched; what changes is which licence — and therefore which plan limits and which add-ons — applies to it.

Add-ons Your Plan Already Includes

Some plans include add-ons. Where yours does, you will see “Included in your plan” instead of a price — on the add-on pages, in the shop, and at checkout — and there is nothing to buy.

You have never been charged for an add-on your plan covers. What changed in September 2026 is that covered add-ons are no longer offered, so you cannot accidentally pay for something you already have.

Signed out, you always see the price. The label only appears once we know which plan you are on.

Cancelling an Add-on

Go to your accountYour add-onsCancel on the add-on you no longer want.

You keep it until the end of the period you have already paid for. Cancelling does not cut your
access off on the day and does not produce a refund or a credit for the remaining time — the add-on simply stops renewing and stays available until its paid term runs out. We email you to confirm, and we email you again if anything changes.

A free add-on cannot be cancelled, because there is nothing to cancel. It stays on your
account, including through a plan change.

If an Add-on Payment Fails

Your add-on keeps working while we retry the card. Your plan and your podcast are not affected — a failed add-on charge never touches your feeds or your subscribers.

We email you when a payment fails, and we email you again before access ends. If the payment is still failing after 30 days, the add-on is switched off. Paying after that gives it back — you do not need to buy it again.

Multiple Shows (Multi-Show License)

If you hold a Multi-Show license, every show on that licence gets the add-on. You buy it once, on the licence, and all of your connected shows have it — including a show you add later.

Studio Plan

If you’re on the Studio plan, all add-ons are already included with your plan. You don’t need to purchase them individually — they’re automatically provisioned when you join Studio and when new add-ons are released.

If you see a “purchase” button on an add-on page while logged in as a Studio customer, you don’t need to click it. If you do proceed to checkout, the add-on is shown as included with your plan rather than offered for sale.

After Purchase

Your purchased add-on appears in the Ready to Install section at Benecaster → Settings → Add-ons. Click the card to install and activate it — no separate download or WordPress plugin upload needed.

Add-on entitlements are provisioned within a few minutes of purchase. If the add-on doesn’t appear in Ready to Install immediately, click Check License in Benecaster → Settings to trigger an immediate sync rather than waiting for the next automatic check-in (within 24 hours).

You can also download the plugin file directly from the Downloads section of your account on benecaster.com and install it via Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin if you prefer.
