Connect Your Membership Plugin

This guide covers connecting Benecaster to a supported subscription plugin. Benecaster bridges with four external membership plugins: MemberPress, WooCommerce Subscriptions, Paid Memberships Pro, and Restrict Content Pro. See the dedicated setup guide for each plugin:

For an overview of how bridges work, see Subscription Plugin Overview.

WooCommerce Memberships — No Longer Supported

WooCommerce Memberships (the woocommerce-memberships plugin) is no longer supported as a Benecaster bridge. This is distinct from WooCommerce Subscriptions, which remains fully supported.

If you previously used WooCommerce Memberships as your bridge:

  • Your existing subscriber feeds continue to work — NullBridge preserves feed access for current subscribers.
  • No new subscribers can authenticate via the WooCommerce Memberships bridge.
  • An admin notice in your WordPress dashboard prompts you to select a replacement bridge.

Recommended migration path: Switch to WooCommerce Subscriptions, which is the closest equivalent if you are already using WooCommerce for payment processing.

Migration steps:

  1. Export your current subscriber list from Benecaster (Benecaster → Subscribers → Export).
  2. Set up WooCommerce Subscriptions and create subscription products matching your existing tiers.
  3. Re-import your subscribers into WooCommerce Subscriptions (or direct them to re-subscribe through your WooCommerce checkout).
  4. In Benecaster → Settings → Subscription, select WooCommerce Subscriptions as your bridge.
  5. Map your WooCommerce subscription products to Benecaster tiers in the tier mapping step.

Subscribers who re-subscribe will receive a new token and a fresh welcome email with their feed URL. Their existing feed URL (if token-based) will deactivate once their old token is revoked — coordinate the transition timing with your subscribers to minimize disruption.
