Add-on: Guest Manager
$49/year
Full guest profiles — stored once, used everywhere.
A full guest system — profiles, archives, and cross-episode history.
Interview shows accumulate guests fast. Guest Manager gives every guest a home: a profile with their bio, photo, title, and social links, connected to every episode they’ve appeared in. Subscribers can click Alice Smith’s name and land on her archive page — every episode, in order, automatically maintained. You update her headshot once and it appears everywhere.
Create a profile once in the episode editor, link it to any number of episodes, and let Guest Manager handle the rest. The public archive page builds itself as new episodes publish. The cross-episode history updates automatically. Change a guest’s title or photo and it propagates across your entire archive in one edit.
Full guest profiles with archives and episode history.
- Guest profiles: name, title, bio, photo, website, social links (repeatable — add as many as needed)
- Public archive page per guest — every episode they’ve appeared in, automatically maintained
- Cross-episode history on the guest profile: full appearance list with episode dates and show context
- Search guests across all shows (Multi-Show plans)
- Guest linking from the episode editor — search existing guests or create a new one inline
- Optional per-show toggle — disable Guest Manager for solo shows that don’t need it
- Gutenberg blocks and Elementor widgets for guest profiles (episode guest section, guest archive, guest card)
- Template customization via hooks and template file overrides
- Custom field support — add fields to guest profiles using Benecaster’s built-in field system; Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) is also supported if you already use it
Link guests from where you’re already working.
The guest selector lives in the episode editor — search existing guests by name or email, or create a new profile inline without leaving the editor. Email is used as the unique key: type a guest’s email address and Guest Manager finds their existing profile immediately, even across different shows on a Multi-Show plan. No duplicates, no “Alice Smith” vs “Alice R. Smith” mismatches.
Already have basic guest entries? When you activate Guest Manager on an existing show, the import wizard reads all your current guest data — names, websites, everything already in core — groups likely duplicates by name, and walks you through converting them into full profiles. Add an email address to each merged profile to anchor it going forward.
One guest, any number of episodes. Change their bio once and it updates across every appearance.
The {{episode_guests}} merge tag in Email Editor pulls from these links automatically — episode notification emails can include “Featuring Alice Smith and Bob Jones” without any extra steps.
Build a complete guest content ecosystem.
Guest profiles and episode archives are just the foundation. Add Transcription Service and AI Search and that foundation becomes something more useful.
When diarization is active, transcripts know not just what was said — but who said it. Map those speaker labels to Guest Manager profiles and every word a guest has ever spoken across your entire back catalogue is attributed, indexed, and searchable. Subscribers can ask “what has Alice Smith said about leadership?” and get exact transcript moments back. You can search from the admin — “which episodes did we cover systems thinking with Bob Jones?” — without leaving the backend.
Guest Manager gives guests an identity. Transcription gives their words attribution. AI Search makes it findable.
Even More Powerful With
- Email Editor —
{{episode_guests}}merge tag lists guest names in episode notification emails automatically - Transcription Service — speaker name mapping in transcripts when diarization is enabled (map speaker labels to guest profiles); quoted transcript segments become attributed content on guest archive pages
- AI Search — when all three are active, the admin backend and subscriber search widget can find what a specific guest said about a specific topic, across your entire archive
