What data does Benecaster send to the license server?
The daily license validation ping sends: your license key, your site URL, plugin and WordPress versions, and — if you’ve opted in to telemetry — anonymized aggregate usage statistics.
What “aggregate” means: subscriber counts by tier, geographic distribution as country/region totals (e.g., “45 subscribers in Texas”), listening pattern distributions by hour-of-day and day-of-week, subscriber tenure in buckets, and churn rate. No subscriber emails, names, tokens, feed URLs, or any personally identifying information is ever transmitted. The license server cannot identify any individual subscriber from the data it receives.
Telemetry is opt-in. The minimum validation payload (license key, site URL, version numbers) is always sent for license validation. Everything else is only transmitted with your consent.
