My site shows a ‘Reconnect to Benecaster’ notice — what do I do?
The “Reconnect to Benecaster” notice appears in your WordPress admin when your site’s connection to your Benecaster account has been interrupted. Reconnect promptly — this is not cosmetic. The connection is how Benecaster confirms your plan, so while it is broken your paid features stop working: subscription-gated content for that show is hidden from the front end, and your subscribers are affected, not just your admin screens.
To reconnect: click the Reconnect to Benecaster button in the notice, or go to Benecaster → Settings → Account and click Connect. You’ll be taken to benecaster.com to log in and confirm — the plugin re-establishes the connection automatically.
Your data is safe throughout, which is a separate thing from your features working. Nothing is deleted or reset by a disconnection: your subscribers, their feed tokens, your episodes and your settings all remain exactly as they were, and reconnecting restores full functionality immediately. What you lose is access to the paid features while disconnected — not the work behind them.
The notice is per-show: if you have multiple shows on the same WordPress installation, only the show whose connection was interrupted shows the notice. Other shows are unaffected.
If the notice keeps reappearing after reconnecting, contact support.
