What hosting do I need to run Benecaster?

Benecaster requires PHP 8.2 or higher and WordPress 6.4 or higher. For small shows (under 50 active subscribers), any shared hosting plan that meets these requirements is sufficient. As your subscriber count grows, server needs change:

  • 50–250 subscribers — VPS or managed WordPress hosting (SiteGround, Cloudways, WP Engine entry plans). Object caching (Redis or Memcached) is recommended.
  • 250–1,000 subscribers — Managed WordPress hosting with Redis or Memcached enabled as a baseline. PHP-FPM and OPcache required.
  • 1,000+ subscribers — Redis or Memcached should be considered a requirement at this scale.
