Benecaster vs. Hello Audio — Podcast Subscription vs. Private Feed Delivery
Both Tools Gate a Private RSS Feed. That’s Where the Similarity Ends.
Hello Audio’s core feature is gated RSS access: connect your payment platform, generate a private feed URL, restrict who can listen. It’s a simple, focused tool. If all you need is a private feed with no other requirements, it works.
Benecaster does that too — and adds per-tier episode scheduling, episode-level availability dates, native WordPress episode management, subscriber lifecycle management, migration tooling from Patreon and Supercast, and an add-on ecosystem. If you’re building a podcast subscription business and not just a private feed, the gap is significant.

Per-Tier Episode Controls
Hello Audio gates your entire feed — subscribers either have access or they don’t. There’s no mechanism for giving your top tier an episode a week before the standard feed, or for publishing bonus content that only a specific tier can see.
Benecaster’s episode scheduling is per-tier. Set a release date on a per-episode, per-tier basis from the episode editor in WordPress. A patron-only episode can go live for Gold members on Monday and be available to everyone else on Friday. Bonus episodes can be permanently restricted to a specific tier. Your tiers become concrete, differentiated products — not just price labels for the same content.
WordPress-Native Episode Management
Hello Audio is platform-agnostic: you manage your episodes in your existing podcast host and Hello Audio gates the feed. That’s fine if you’re happy with your existing episode workflow and don’t need anything beyond the gate itself.
Benecaster adds a WordPress episode CPT. Your episode titles, show notes, transcripts, chapters, and metadata live in WordPress alongside your site content. Episode-level settings — tier availability, transcript visibility, chapter data, scheduled release dates — are managed from the same WordPress admin you use for everything else. No separate system to keep in sync.
Your Subscriber Data
Hello Audio is a hosted SaaS product. Your subscriber records and feed tokens live on Hello Audio’s platform under Hello Audio’s infrastructure. If Hello Audio changes pricing, changes terms, or stops operating, your subscriber relationships are on their server.
Benecaster keeps everything in your WordPress database. Full XLSX export of subscriber records at any time, no request or support ticket required. If Benecaster stopped existing tomorrow, your private feed tokens would continue to authenticate locally — nothing breaks for your subscribers immediately.
Where Hello Audio Wins
Course and coaching platform integrations. Hello Audio integrates with Kajabi, Teachable, and other course platforms. If your audience management lives in Kajabi and not WordPress, Hello Audio connects there cleanly. Benecaster is WordPress-only — if you’re not on WordPress, it’s not the right tool.
Simpler setup for non-WordPress publishers. Hello Audio doesn’t require a WordPress site. If you want private podcast feeds without WordPress, Hello Audio is a direct path. Benecaster requires WordPress.
Focus. Hello Audio does one thing and does it simply. If the only thing you need is a gated feed — no per-tier controls, no episode scheduling, no subscriber management dashboard — Hello Audio’s stripped-down approach may be preferable to Benecaster’s fuller feature set.
